The History of REALITY

Over ten years ago REALITY was started in the home of Jeff Elieff for singles that could not make it for normal service and A.B.F. classes due to serving in other ministries. The Bible study centered on relevant Bible Study for singles and genuine fellowship. REALITY grew to the point that the decision was made to move to a Barn that formerly stood on the church facilities. Frequently referred to as simply , ‘The Barn’, it was home to REALITY for about four years until the new educational wing was completed in Oct of 2005. The years that REALITY met in the Barn flourished till space limitations required leadership to move REALITY frequently to the sanctuary.
In January of 2006 REALITY made its transition into the new Educational Wing. Due to growth, In Jan of 2006 Blake Ring was brought on staff as the College Pastor and Philip Brown was brought on Full-time as the Singles Pastor. Following this decision, the College department created the Upper Room and began meeting separately on Wednesdays. Due to the changes Reality made the move to Rm. 236 till it grew to the size that it is today.

REALITY TODAY

REALITY is thriving in its ability to reach Singles where they are and also provide authentic fellowship with both God and Man(Luke 2:52). Over the last 6 months REALITY has grown tremendously. Combined with the Sunday Morning ABF’s and home Bible Studies, Singles from the community are making Ninth and O their Home. Singles just like you, and Ninth and O as a whole, have decided to offer a friendly, safe and fellowship oriented atmosphere for single adults.

WHAT DO WE DO?

If you have visited with us, you can tell by our room we meet in that we have limits on what we can do. We are limited by space that would allow for more people to hear the relevant Bibles study and experience fellowship. We are limited in our ability to provide a non-lecture style atmosphere. We are limited in our abilities to bring the best audio and visual technology that our church can provide. Studies have shown that once you reach 80% capacity of a room, on average, your growth will weaken. People will just not come because they don’t feel comfortable. REALITY has always been plagued on Wednesday nights with the lack of set up time and preparation time. Although we have used other rooms, we have always been tightly controlled due to events preceding the 8 o’clock hour. Due to this we have been unable to bring consistency in style of worship and atmosphere that is conducive to reaching out to the singles in our community.

READY FOR CHANGE IN 2008

We are determined to wait no longer. We are ready for change. Through much prayer and planning, we bring you the announcement of a great step for REALITY. We will be making a move to Thursday Nights at 7 pm starting Jan 9th. This will provide; freedom from preceding events in our worship venue, the best audio and visual recourses our church can provide for our size group, fellowship time following REALITY, room for a non-lecture style bible study, for others to join us from other churches. We are convinced that this move will be a great step in the life of Ninth and O’s ministry to you and to the singles of this community both now and in years to come. Mark your calendars today, call your bosses, and invite your friends to join us for REALITY 2008 starting Jan 9th at 7pm in Rm 233 with the REALITY Band and the Best Speaker from Ducktown, Tennessee you have ever heard.
